Poor Nutrition

Poor nutrition mean someone not having proper diet either having excessive food or quitting food regardless body is not receiving balance nutrients, minerals and vitamins which can contribute to stress, tiredness and our capacity to work, and over time, it can contribute to the risk of developing some illnesses and other health problems such as: being overweight or obese, tooth decay, high blood pressure.

Poor nutrition could be short-term or long-term, here we will explain both in detail.

Effects Of Poor Nutrition In Short-term

In the short term, poor nutrition can contribute to stress, tiredness and our capacity to work, and over time, it can contribute to the risk of developing some illnesses and other health problems such as:

  • Raised Stress
      • An unhealthy diet, poor sleep will cause many problems on the body that cause stress.
  • Low Energy
      • Continuous poor nutrition will result in decreased Carbohydrate and fatigue that leads to weakness, tiredness and having No Energy to perform daily activities.
  • Loss Productivity 
      • If we talk about poor nutrition we have to discuss brain activity, a person having a poor diet cannot focus on daily activity, remember things and complete work.
  • Mood changes
      • In short-term poor nutrition, the body faces stress problems which will lead to mood change very fast. Hormone imbalance, irritability and anxiety are very common.
  • Health
    • Short-term poor diet will increase the risk of infections, colds, poor skin, unpleasant breathing, slower recovery from illness and digestive problems. 

Effects Of Poor Nutrition In Long-term

If someone having poor nutrition for long time that affect very badly in body ( Physically and Mantly ) some time this will turn into chronic health problem like;

  • Being Overweight Or Obese
      • Taking excessive meals in terms of having high calories causes an increase in body weight, low metabolism and high risk to disease.
  • Tooth Decay
      • Diets contain high levels of sugar lead to cause cavity which result in tooth decay
  • High Blood Pressure
      • Food that contains high levels of fats and salt leads to high blood pressure and cardiac problems.
  • High Cholesterol Level
      • Processed food, saturated fat cause high blood pressure and high cholesterol level and having these kinds of meals for a long time cause heart disease and stroke
  • Type-2 Diabetes
      • Loading the body by overeating food having a rich source of sugar for long term stores high levels of sugar in blood, these sugar overpower insulin in the body that cause Type-2 Diabetes.
  • Osteoporosis
      • Slowly over several years of overeating causes osteoporosis. Food having low calcium and vitamins makes bone weakens and fragile. 
  • Specific Cancers
      • Overeating or being overweight always have a very bad impact on the body. Sometimes fatal overeating for a long time can cause stomach cancer and in females it can lead to breast cancer.
  • Depression
      • Vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and imbalanced hormones deficient nutrients will decrease physical and mental health and will end in depression.
  • Eating disorders.
    • Overweight body cause irregular eating, poor knowledge of nutrients because of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa

Good nutrition is essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Eating a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and healthy fats helps the body function properly, boosts energy, and prevents disease. Developing healthy eating habits early in life and avoiding processed or sugary foods can greatly improve overall well-being and quality of life
